Five candidates elected to the Boston School Committee .

The candidates (with vote totals in parenthesis) are incumbents Thomas Eisenstadt (104,358) and Joseph Lee Jr. (76,321) and newcomers Paul Tierney (77,076), Paul McDevitt (65,522), and John Kerrigan (64,333). Louise Day Hicks did not run for reelection and instead was defeated as a candidate for mayor. Unsuccessful candidates include Dorothy Bisbee (63,391) and William O’Connor (62,042).
